Corduroy Change Purse

This is a super easy project that I came across in Cynthia Treen’s book Last-Minute Fabric Gifts:  30 Hand-Sew, Machine-Sew & No-Sew Projects.  I had just picked up the book the day before taking my older two kidlets to a Mini Mammoth Book Sale.  The kids had cash in hand and they were excited!  Or at least that had coins in hand … and purse…  and pockets…  Anna has a couple of purses now that she could choose from to carry her money loosely in but Noah didn’t have anything to put his rolls of pennies into.  So, when I saw this project right after having scored big on corduroy at the thrift shop, I knew I had to make him one.

As it turns out, the project is so easy that I was able to whip up not one but three of these in about 45 minutes time.  Now each of the kidlets has one and they’re really enjoying carrying them around everywhere we go — you know, just in case they find a penny on the sidewalk or something…  When we go to our next Mini Mammoth Book Sale, they will be all set!
