Overheard at Our House

The Small Fry may not say much yet (or speak often for that matter — he really is the silent type) but sometimes he really knows what he wants and is willing to say so.

After a morning of raspberry picking last week, we each had a small dish of fresh raspberries for an afternoon snack.  Having finished off his own, Levi found me, pointed to my dish, and proclaimed, “Mine!”

Me:  “No, they’re mine.  You ate yours.”
Levi:  “Mine!  Mine!”
Me:  “No, not yours.  Mine.”
Levi:  “Mine!  Yum!”
Me:  “No, mine.  You already ate yours.”
Levi:  “Mine!  Mom!  Mine!”
Me:  “Nice try — not yours.”
Levi:  “Mine!”

I think you can guess what word I heard until the berries were out of sight…
