Crochet Pie Plate Cosy

I found this Bernat pattern a couple of months ago and decided to give it a try.  I made the multi-coloured (creamsicle ombre) one first as a kind of test run — because it’s ombre yarn, you can’t really see the pattern in it.  But I love the pattern in the bright white and yellow.  The pattern was easy enough to do while watching tv (as long as I wasn’t watching something where I needed the subtitles — I usually use the closed captioning but not always) or while hanging out chatting with someone in the evening.  This uses Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (just like you would use for dish cloths).

It’s actually a pretty handy little pie plate holder for the pie dishes I have that don’t already have handles.  Plus, it looks really pretty on a lemon meringue pie!
