My friend, Kendra, was de-stashing before an upcoming move so I (very) willingly accepted fabric from her and promptly came up with excuses to give Brian for when I got caught bringing more fabric home. You know: “I was performing an act of charity for a friend in need…” or “Fabric? What fabric?” or maybe just “It was too hard to resist!” 🙂
Anyway, I was reading through Tanya Whelan’s Sew What You Love: The Easiest, Prettiest Projects Ever that I’d found at the library. When I saw the Lila Tunic Blouse I immediately thought of this one fabric I’d gotten from Kendra and set about to copy the pattern and sew it up as a dress. I finally figured out how to use elastic thread in my bobbin (not that it was hard, I just hadn’t actually gotten around to it — it’s actually VERY easy to do). I managed to make the entire dress in one afternoon!
