Baby Bloomers

I made this pair of baby bloomers this week.  The hope is that one of the babies we’re expecting to meet soon (there are quite a few due to arrive over the summer amongst all the people we know) will be receiving these to wear.

They come from the Ruby’s Bloomers pattern in Heather Ross’ Weekend Sewing:  More Than 40 Projects and Ideas for Inspired Stitching.  I made a size 6-12 month and used up some more of that great Metro Cafe screen print I’d picked up last year.  It’s too cute a fabric not to use!  I have always disliked the look of diapers showing (it’s like letting the poor child run/crawl around with their shirt tucked into their underwear — wouldn’t like it if it was me!) and I think bloomers make a great cover-up!
