Ending the Month With Some Fluff

I finished everything on my February To-Sew list with a few days to spare.  And it felt like I needed a short change of pace so I decided to take a couple of days to do something mindless and “fluffy.”  So, yesterday I read the first Harry Potter book since I’ve never read it before.  I’m not sure I get all the hype but the story was good enough.  And it was a short easy read.  I’ve also been mapping out my priorities for March sewing and craft projects.

I’ve also set aside a bit of time (and used some time in front of the television) to crochet the kidlets some scarves — they’ve been begging for scarves of their own since last year.  I used the free Bernat pattern on the Bernat Softee Chunky yarn (in Denim Ragg) that was in my stash.  I used the width of the man’s scarf pattern and a length shorter than the man’s but longer than the child’s pattern.  It’s a very easy pattern — as long as you can make a single crochet, a double crochet, and a chain, you can handle this one.
