Green Dolman Sleeve Tee Completed

Another project I finished up for myself.  I saw this tutorial on Craft Gossip a little while ago and immediately thought I’d like to try it as my first serious attempt at sewing with knits.  I chose a solid green t-shirt jersey that was on clearance sale at Fabricland — I liked the colour and didn’t want to waste a lot of money if I totally botched it.

The top did not come out quite as expected — if I do it again, I’ll bring in the neck line and create a more fitted shape from the sleeve down to the hem (I did take it in and reshape once already — the first try made a lovely tent!).  I would also prefer to use the twin needle for a more professional look on the hemline and the neck line.

I love how comfy the top is and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it quite often!

You are adorable. Love that tutorial; just picked up some fun striped fabric at F-Land yesterday – may try this!!!

If you want it to work really well, use something with some good stretch — more than regular t-shirt jersey anyway. Mine’s comfy, but would definitely have better fit around the middle with more stretch in the fabric.
