Overheard at Our House

At dinner last night…

Anna:  “Mommy, why do Barbie and Ken want to kiss, anyway?”

(*note, the kidlets just watched the special bonus features on the Cars 2 DVD)

*****

Anna:  “Why are cars so expensive?  Shouldn’t they cost less so everyone can afford them?”

Brian:  “It has something to do with market forces and consumer drive.  You won’t understand until you’re older.  So don’t ask again until you’re older.”

Anna:  “What’s market forces?”

Brian:  “I told you, you won’t understand until you’re older.  Don’t ask again until you’re older.”

common Brian, this could have led to a very interesting discussion of greed and motivation, consumerism, demand, I could go on and on. What a cop out.

I swear it was just one question after another with her that night! And she wasn’t really listening to any of the answers — we were just getting tired of trying to answer them all… 🙂
