Sewing a Liner Into a Crochet Purse

My sister-in-law made this really beautiful crochet purse for Anna for Christmas.  And she asked me to help with sewing a liner and inserting it!  Um — yes!  Of course I’d like to help!  It’s so cute!  Didn’t she do an amazing job?!?

So I finally got around to completing this project the other day (it’s only been how many days since Christmas?  sheesh!  I’m slow…).  I had read up on the instructions for making the liner here and a great tutorial on how to hand sew a lining into a crocheted project here.  When I finally set myself to work on this, creating the liner (even with making a pattern first) only took about 15 minutes (not counting the time it took me to find where the kids had put my pen and my scissors and getting interrupted for the bedtime routine).  Char had picked out a really cute owl print fabric that matches the purse perfectly (what’s up with all the cute owl print lately??).  Then I sat down to watch an episode of NCIS with Brian while I hand sewed the liner into the bag.  Not as hard as you might think at first.  And Anna has been carrying it everywhere!  She loves it!
