I’ve settled on a 2.5 km route to run (for now) that I mostly like. The problem with my new neighbourhood is that there are almost no trails/pathways nearby. This means I have to work with the uneven pavement on our sidewalks — a good way to turn an ankle… But for now I’ve found a route that mostly works and I think I’ve found all the worst trouble spots to keep my eyes peeled for each time.
And I’ve had some good progress, too. I’ve been working on this 2.5 km route so I can work on better breathing and slowly working up to longer running periods (and shorter walking ones). I noticed tonight that I’ve cut about 10 minutes off my time from the first time I did this route. And I’m running about 3 times further for each running section. That’s especially good since I only made it out for a few short walks with the kidlets since last Sunday night’s run. (It’s been a very difficult week…)
